GET THE BEST MIX FOR YOUR SONG

Let’s face it, your music doesn’t sound the way it could. You’ve probably tried to do it yourself, spending tons of long hard-worked hours just to get nowhere. I hear it from clients all too often! “Man, I spent all of this time mixing my music and, I finally thought it sounded great. Then, I took it to my car and realized it sounded absolutely terrible!”

Maybe you feel like the mixing and mastering process is too complicated. Or worse, you released your DIY music to the world only to hear crickets.

There is one major step that sets professional artists apart from amateurs.

Professional Mixing and Mastering

WHY A PROFESSIONAL PRODUCT MATTERS

A mix can make or break your music. A great production will boost the highs of your musical innovation, while a bad one can turn prospective audiences into prospective critics. Every musician wants their song to hit their audience with the same passion it has taken to create it.

The problem: mixing and mastering is an art. It takes lots of time and experience to gain the knowledge necessary to get the most out of music.

With over a decade in the industry, we at Averill Productions understand the difficulties of getting that great mix for your song. We know the relentless drive musicians put into their craft because we are musicians too. Countless hours spent rehearsing? Packing for gigs that are hours away? We’ve been there.

OUR MIXING AND MASTERING WILL HELP YOU SOUND YOUR BEST.

There is nothing worse than hearing a terrible-sounding song that could have been great with a better mix. The song idea may be fantastic but if it sounds like an unprofessional demo, you will not be taken seriously. Your sound matters! It is the first impression you make on potential fans, labels, managers, and more. If you are not willing to invest in your craft, it is almost pointless to share it with the world. With roughly 40,000 songs released on Spotify per day, you can not afford to release low-quality music. You have to sound competitive if you want to be heard! That is where we come in.

Frequently Asked Questions

WAV or AIFF, please. Uncompressed stereo files with a bit depth of at least 16bit, ideally 24bit, and a sampling frequency of 44.1kHz up to 96kHz. No pre-processing using limiting or normalizing – we need as much headroom as possible to work with to make sure that your tracks sound as good as possible when we master it. Please note: Track duration must be no longer than 10 minutes. Each version or mix of a track will be charged separately.

Absolutely. In addition to as much written information as possible, you’re welcome to provide a rough mix as well as a commercially released reference song, as these will be useful as guides for the engineer (this also won’t be counted as an additional track).

Ideally not. We ask that you please supply multi-track files dry, without reverb or effects. However, if you feel that a specific effect, processing or creative element (filter sweeps, delays, etc.) is an integral part of the sound then please provide a clearly labeled ‘dry safety’ version of your track with-in your ‘Reference Audio Folder’ when you submit your project (any audio in this folder won’t be counted as an additional track).

Of Course! Additional revisions are available at an additional cost.

We accept WAV or AIFF files at 44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96kHz; 16, 24, or 32 bit. Please supply us with mono or stereo files, clearly named and without audio clipping. Stereo files will be counted as 2 tracks of audio, for example, ‘Strings L & R’ will be counted as 2 tracks. You will need to provide multi-tracks that are consolidated or bounced from the start point of your song (bar 1 beat 1 or start time code). All files must be of the same duration, sample rate and bit depth. We ask that you also double check your audio files before sending them. Reload them into a new Session/Project, checking that they are the correct placement and length. Be sure that any crossfades have been included when consolidating or bouncing in place.

Plenty of headroom, please. Around 6db is best. Artifacts like clipping and distortion cannot be removed in the mixing process, so allow plenty of headroom when printing your multi-tracks to avoid any.

We accept files via WeTransfer, Google Drive, or Dropbox. Please send individual tracks with plenty of headroom and no dithering. Be sure to compress (Zip) the folder prior to uploading it to your preferred delivery method.
